I can I get around the new laws to play online poker for money?

This is killin’ me! I used to play online poker to pay the rent. Now that I have been forced to quit my traveling job for health reasons I need to go back to it, at least for awhile. President Bush has signed a law causing online poker companies to not allow me to make deposits. Can anyone suggest how I might get around this? I need to make money.

  1. Move to another country if you don’t want to break the law.

Try other sites from another country. I don’t think the new law would apply to those online poker sites if they’re not based in the US.

  5. If you used to play to pay the rent, check out Cake Poker. http://www.ultimatepokerbankroll.com is offering 33% rakeback there, and they have the fishiest games offered in the US. They are beta testing Epassporte deposits which still allow Americans to deposit into gaming sites.

  8. You can still play online. The easiest way to deposit now is by using ViSA gift cards. You can get a virtual visa at http://www.giftcards.com and it works fine. As for withdrawls you can still get a check from the site and cash it. This is working fine for me. http://www.livepokertraining.com

  10. Just to clear up some confusion:

    1. None of the sites were ever based in the US.

    2. The sites that have pulled out have done so voluntarily to avoid confrontations with the US DOJ. The ones that have really felt the heat are financial institutions that service gaming sites, which is what the gamng legislation sought to regulate. Thus, the biggest limiting factor is the ability to move money to/from these sites.

    3. It isn’t, and never has, been illegal to play poker online. The legislation, like I previously mentioned, only goes after financial institutions.

    4. Sites like Pokerstars, FullTilt, UltimateBet, and Absolute are still up and running.

    Good luck.
